Back from Hawaii!
We had a wonderful time our our cruise to Hawaii! Two weeks on board the Celebrity Century - we had such a fabulous time! So relaxing and great spending so much time with my honey. Kim took ukelele classes and we both took lei making classes learning how to make a kukui nut necklace, woven ribbon lei and a woven dollar bill bracelet. It was so much fun! We went on vacation with Kim's brother Ted and his wife Dee. It was fun having them on board and I hope they enjoyed the trip as much as we did. Now back home to reality!

Crafting
I started making my Christmas Cards for this year! Got to start early ya know! Seems early to me even though it is October! Kim and I have one week left until our cruise, we are very excited. Didn't I tell you? We are cruising to Hawaii! We fly down to San Diego next Friday and then board the cruise ship Saturday morning. Ahh, 15 days aboard the ship and around the islands. We have three stops in Hawaii and also get to cruise around the volcano at night. I hope there is some lava we can see!

Lazy Weekend
It's been a short weekend for me, only two days off since I had to work Friday. Been relaxing though, made a birthday card and a flower basket for a friend with my paper quilling. Went down to the phone store and got my Mom a new phone and then grocery shopping. Now I think we will take a nice nap this afternoon!

Labor Day Weekend
Saturday was busy getting more stuff dinged out for Goodwill then took everything down and had to shop just a little bit ha, ha, ha! Found a darling clock that looks like a purse and a cute piggy bank with polka dots all over it. I just had to have them! I think that's a good trade, one truck full of old stuff and I only brought back two pieces that I have a place for already. Then we went out to Chinese food, The House of Beijing. Always enough for leftovers the next day!
Went to the beach Sunday just for the day with Hollie and Matt. Boy was it packed! Of course the weather was perfect so that brought everyone out. Seaside and Cannon Beach were swamped. We had lunch at Mo's our favorite clam chowder joint and then on to playing on the beach. Here's a pic we managed to shoot without the surrounding crowd lol!
Today, Kim and I went to the movies - we saw "The Expendables." It's a guy flick which Kim thoroughly enjoyed. I thought it was pretty good albeit violent. Now just relaxing the rest of the afternoon away and we'll have those Chinese leftovers for dinner! A great Labor Day weekend in my opinion!

More cleaning!
Well I've been at it again, cleaning up the bedroom some more. Had a corner with Christmas stuff and some craft stuff in it, got it all sorted out, thrown out and sent to Goodwill. Boy they must love me this year lol! My beautiful daughter in law celebrated her 30th birthday recently. Went to her luau party yesterday. It was fun seeing the kids again and Adam of course cooked an amazing selection of food! What a great cook he has turned out to be! Who would have thought the top ramen king would turn out to be a gourmet chef among his other talents!

Cleaning out the Closet
Cleaned out my closet and cleaned up the Bedroom this weekend. Sheesh! Did I have too many clothes or what! Have 6 garbage sacks full of clothes for the goodwill and a sack of shoes too. Now on to endless laundry, does it ever end??? I must admit I think I have a bit of hoarding in me, way too many clothes that I never wear and since I'm not the best housekeeper, clothes were exploding into the bedroom as well. It's all cleaned up now and I'm down to about 30 pair of shoes lol. I tried to cut it down further but I really do wear all of them during the year. Maybe I can pair it down a bit more, we'll see!

Our House
Here is a picture of our humble home. I can't believe we have lived here for almost 26 years! We need a new roof and a new garage door but other than that, the old gal is holding up well! Some bark dust would make the yard look nicer but we haven't gotten around to that yet. I'm not very good at flowers either, I always forget to water and then everything dies lol! The weather is much cooler now, only in the high 70's, perfect as far as I'm concerned!

Fridaze

So have you heard about the app called Viggle? I'm a total addict I admit! You check in on your phone to the viggle app whenever you watch tv and you are awarded points which you can then turn into gift cards and other prizes. I just went over 55,000 points and I'm going to get three $10 JC Penny cards. That's $30 for free! I love it! They play trivia games on the app also where you can earn even more points. Kim would definitely agree that I'm addicted and I'm afraid I passed my addiction on to my daughter! She came over for a visit last night and we sat watching the Olympics and viggled away!

Sundaze
Today is a pj kind of day, hanging out at home, watching movies and relaxing. Woke up not feeling well, tummy trouble, hope it's not the flu! Kim is still recouping from the eye surgery. He has one more day off then back to work. Hopefully he will be ok to drive long distances. I have a busy week ahead of me - our clinic is being accredited as a medical clinic for the State of Washington on Monday and Tuesday, then on Wednesday and Thursday, we have an audit going on. I'll be glad when the week is over!

Post Surgery
Well Kim's checkup after the Lasik surgery went well! He now has 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/25 in the other and it's supposed to get even better! Wow! Maybe I should do this too! Thinking about it but I don't know, I'm a big chicken. Kim took me out to breakfast afterward and now he is napping and I'm blogging, lol.
Please pray for my cousin Lynn - she was in a bad motorcycle accident and they had to amputate her leg. She just had a second operation to remove infection, they are trying to save her knee now. Lord, please be with her!

Lasik Surgery
Well this morning my hubby Kim had Lasik surgery. He's napping now as the Dr. prescribed. He'll be all finished with his glasses except for the slim possibility of needing readers for very up close. I wear glasses too but I'm too chicken to have the surgery lol! Maybe after he is all recovered and thinks it's the best thing he's ever done, maybe then I might reconsider but it still makes my stomach queezy!
Living with Bipolar
I happen to be "blessed" with Bipolar. On the one hand, I think it helps with me being a very creative person, on the other hand, it can be difficult making it through this life. I take it one day at a time as the saying goes. Being on medication has been a life saver for me. In the past, I've been hospitalized several times with major depression and all that garbage. Been through the counseling too although I'm pretty bitter about that, not a good experience for me but I'm sure it's helped many individuals. I personally have a relationship with Jesus and I think my faith and medication have been the miracles in my life that keep me going along with a great family and all the support and love they give me! Although sometimes it's still a day to day struggle, for the most part, I've been pretty stable for the past 7 years, thank you Lord!
Welcome!
Welcome, my name is Vicki. I'm married to a wonderful man Kim, going to be 33 years this coming November. We have two children, Adam who is married to a terrific gal Lisa and Hollie who is single but in a relationship with a great guy Matt. We live in Vancouver, Washington which is right on the Oregon border close to Portland. I work as a bookkeeper/jack of all trades at a Pregnancy Clinic and my hubby is a Trucker. We own our own truck and he is leased on with Mitchell Brothers here in town. We are empty nesters and loving it!
